Most Web browsers now implement some form of colour management. To view the images as accurately as possible please calibrate your monitor using the Spyder, Colormunki or X-Rite I-One systems to the following, D65, Gamma 2.2 or Lstar and a luminance of about 110/150 for TFT screens and if you’ve still got one about 80-90 for a CRT. If in doubt visit Neil Barstow’s colour management.net web site for more information.
Please note that Firefox only recognises version 2 profiles not the newer version 4. So when using the new wide gamut LCD monitors e.g. Eizo or Mitsubishi colours will appear over saturated. The only browser which appears to be O.K. is Apples Safari. Other browsers like Chrome and Explorer do not recognise embedded profiles. If you are using the basICColor software you can calibrate using the SRGB setting for Web and set for version 2 profiles.
